It is common for hiring managers to have 100+ resumes to review and they are often seeing repetitive and uninteresting bullet point statements that start with responsible for, assisted with, provided, etc. The use of powerful action verbs at the beginning of each bullet point will better articulate your experience and affirm your skills.

Instead of mediocre wording:

Use high-impact language:

And equally as important, mix up your starting bullet point words so you are not using the same action verb multiple times or one right after the other. Adding variety will make your resume more interesting to read. For maximum impact, be strategic in your choosing and use words that effectively articulate your skills/experience and are tailored to your desired role.

PRO TIP: Add quantifiable information (numbers, percentages, dollar amounts, frequency) as much as possible. A job descriptor that reads "Recruited an average of 5 employees per week" is more impressive and descriptive than "Recruited employees."
